Firsts matter to El-ohim, The Creator God. He even has a principle (law) of first fruits that declares all firsts belong to Him and if they're dedicated to Him, the rest will be holy and blessed (Exodus 13:2, Proverbs 3:9-10, Romans 11:16).
In this year when deep deliverance is my focus, I did a word study on the first usage of 'deliver' in The Written Word. In Genesis 32:11, Jacob speaking, we read, "Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him lest he come and smite me and the mother with the children." From the outset, the meaning seems quite evident, but I looked it up because I knew Holy Spirit had more available. He's just too big to stop at the humanly obvious.
Deliver is Strong's 5337; I looked it up in the New Englishman's Hebrew Concordance (NEHC) first, though. In the NEHC deliver in Genesis 32:11 is referenced as hiphil - imperative; which means it's being presented as a command. This is helpful to know for those of who claim they never get that real (aka bossy) with The Godhead. I get real with Them; my life is real and at times I just go in 'cause I feel like I'm not gonna make it if They don't do something right then. I'm thankful for grace 😊. So Jacob is telling Yahweh to deliver him, no other option, as if he (Jacob) is the boss of God. 😂
In Strong's deliver is natsal (naw-tsal') meaning to snatch away - whether in a good or bad sense, deliver at all, defend, deliver (self), escape, deliver without fail, pluck, preserve, recover, rescue, rid, save, spoil, strip, deliver surely, take (out). All good stuffs. So after I read these meanings a couple times, I sat and waited for the revelation. It didn't come so I looked at how deliver is written in Hebrew. That was it ... there was the revelation!
In Hebrew deliver is written in the letters lamed tsade nun and read right to left as nun tsade lamed. And that's the great part.
nun = fish
tsade = fish hook
lamed = staff
REVELATION: Yeshua fished for men to deliver them unto salvation (John 3:17, Luke 15:4, 1 Timothy 2:4) with authority and by legal right because He fulfilled The Law (Matthew 5:17, Numbers 17:8).
Yeshua is The Word made flesh and God proves that once again. It is finished.
I bless you in The Name Above All Names, Yeshua, and in His authority given me by covenant relationship. Ha'shem Adonai!
